15th August is that special moment of Indian Independence, when we all feel proud of our country. In this celebration of Independence, we all salute the tricolor together, and realize what is the price of our freedom. 🇮🇳
Whenever 15th August comes, there is a different feeling of happiness and pride. When I was a child, I used to think that it is just a holiday, but as I grew up, I realized that this day is not just a holiday but a symbol of our history, struggle and our freedom.
1. Flag hoisting and parade in school

National Independence day celebration in India
I remember, when I was in school, on 15th August we used to wake up early in the morning and go to school. There was flag hoisting in our school, and the principal used to salute the tricolor. Then all of us students used to sing patriotic songs and do a parade. All the school events and activities were very special on that day, which reminded us of our freedom and struggle. At that time, we realized that this day is not just about the country’s independence, but also a day for us to perform our duties and understand our responsibility towards the country.
2. Respect for the tricolor and our national symbols

Every year on 15th August, I hoist the tricolour in my house. It is not only a feeling of pride but it also teaches us to respect the symbols of our country. When the tricolour flutters in the air, it becomes a reminder that we must always preserve and maintain our freedom. I remember that in my childhood, whenever the tricolour fluttered, there was a different kind of joy on the faces of me and my friends.
3. Patriotic programs and cultural activities

There were small programs in my locality on Independence Day. Every year, to make this day more special, small cultural programs were organized in which children sang patriotic songs, danced and performed plays. I remember, once I also performed a play related to the freedom struggle, in which we were told about the struggle and sacrifice of our freedom fighters. At that time I realized that we should understand the value of our freedom and cherish it.
4. Traveling and Celebrating During Holidays

I always feel like travelling on the occasion of Independence Day. Once we went with the whole family to some historical places of the country, where we got to know more about the Indian freedom struggle. That trip was an amazing experience for me, because by visiting those places, I could feel the deep truth of the freedom struggle. This way of celebrating independence was very special. Standing at those historical places, we all understood that we did not get independence so easily, thousands of people have struggled for it.
5. Live events and speeches on TV
Every Independence Day I listen to the Prime Minister’s speech on TV. His speech is always inspiring. His words have such power that they inspire us to do something for our country. I always feel that when the Prime Minister hoists the tricolor from the Red Fort, it is not just a flag but it becomes a symbol of the unity and integrity of the country. This day reminds us that we all should work together for the progress of our country.
Conclusion: More than a day, a feeling
Independence Day is not just a one-day celebration, but it is a day related to our mindset and emotions. On this day, we should remember our freedom fighters and salute their struggle. This day teaches us that freedom is the result of a struggle, which we should always cherish in our hearts.

On 15th August, when we all hoist the tricolour and sing patriotic songs, we realise that we are not just citizens of a country but we are members of a strong and independent nation. Feeling the true spirit of this day is what makes it special.
